I was nervous at first because of the bad reviews and due to a bad experience at another Hertz in Paris. But everything went just fine and the car was wonderful. Yousef and his coworker (didn't get his name) were very friendly and were even willing to come down to mark the prior damages for me to make sure there weren't any new ones. They said that I could send in the pictures, but I always have trouble getting clear photos. I just want to suggest that the interior cleaner is more careful to use extra light when he cleans because I didn't even notice until I got it into the sun that there was something like yogurt splashed on the inside wall in the back. But having a 2 year old myself, that was not a big deal. Also, as someone that came from the public transport (RER) and had to get directions a few times in the train station... Just find the Starbucks near the Eurostar (Grand Lines) and go down the escalator directly in front of that. That station is a maze of up and down escalators and passages that don't connect through all the way.

Retired Australian couple. We booked online from home. Arrived at 8am on opening time Saturday. We were first in queue albeit there was only one other person behind us. We had our passports, Victorian Drivers Licence & International Drivers Permits & original booking bank debit card ready. We paid for full insurance cover (always do) road side assist, border crossing and additional driver. We were served by Yosef. He was efficient and so polite. It took about 15 minutes which we think is reasonable. We were given a brand new Opel Astra station wagon with a full sunroof. It had 60KM on the clock. Also prior to arriving in France we cancelled a previous booking as we needed to modify it to change pick up from Paris airport to Gard de Nord & we got the full deposit refunded back into our bank account in 5-8 days. The cancellation was done over the phone from home. Anyway hope that helps as we worried for nothing after having read the bad reviews that are listed here.

Remember to bring your passport! We needed a car for the day because the train to Monet's house in Giverny wasn't running frequently on a Sunday. The car rental was quick and easy and less than the cost of two round-trip train tickets (though the $25 tolls blew that). We left the passports in the Airbnb, which required a taxi ride, and the sympathetic car rental guy upgraded us to a small SUV hybrid. Remember to bring your passport!
